About ten years ago these were our primary power units with almost 1,400
horsepower and ready to get started with spring fieldwork. Note the bright
yellow domes on the front of each cab...these contain the receivers for the GPS
guidance for our field operations.
This view of us using a chisel plow to do primary tillage
in the fall after harvest also illustrates the "sides" of the
Mississippi River valley...note the relatively flat floor of the valley and the
sides which are several hundred feet higher. The valley is approximately 9
miles wide in this area.
First pass for spring tillage while everything is still clean!
It takes a lot of driveway to unfold this 90 feet wide and 36-row planter!
